The first CD release by Roy Scoutz. Much of what you hear on his debut album borrows from different cultures and periods. While being planted firmly in the present and influenced greatly by the musical stylings from the classical period, the music takes on an originality all its own. Starting with "Glory Glory", a very unique track that blends Western beats with classical melodic stylings with the melody played on mandolin. Very fresh indeed. Followed by "Suite: Olivia", a pop tune in every sense is given a chance to be featured on three different instruments. Next up is "Claudia", with vocals reminiscent of Enya, and featuring a fret-less bass solo supported by viola. This gives you an idea of the tremendous depth and imagination this very musical disc will take you on. There are classical guitar and flute duets, a Russian jig, as well as a Chopin inspired piano piece that has all the elements of a dramatic rock song, including a climactic guitar solo. 1.
