The Eric Ekstrand Ensemble

The Eric Ekstrand Ensemble released "Spiked Heel Stomp" in 1998. It has sold approximately 12,000 copies. This is their follow-up CD. Comparisons: If you like swing music along the lines of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Count Basie, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick, Jr., Michael Buble, etc. you'll love the Eric Ekstrand Ensemble's "Standard Delivery".

The musicians on the CD are all seasoned veterans of the L.A. music scene the youngest being bassist Billy Brockmann who at 30 years old has already established himself in the jazz, pop and symphonic world in Los Angeles. Murder at the Cotton Club - Eric Ekstrand Ensemble - Official Music Video (08:19)
Murder at the Cotton Club. An original song by the Eric Ekstrand Ensemble. From the CD “Spiked Heel Stomp”. Words & Music by Eric Ekstrand. Produced by Don Peake. Arranged by Eric Ekstrand. The song is a fictional account of an incident at the famous Cotton Club of Harlem in the 30s. If you like this video I strongly recommend you check out one of the greatest American entertainers of all time, Cab Calloway. Here are some links to some Cab videos. I’m sure you can find more and each one is a treasure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1Xno49V6Ng&list=PL86B05638C87B8298, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohbrSmQc--g&list=RDohbrSmQc--g#t=34, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8yGGtVKrD8, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mq4UT4VnbE, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPkPyVYp6ik And I cast Erskine Hawkins in the part of fictional trumpet player Sammy Brown because Erskine was very handsome. But Erskine Hawkins was a great trumpet player, composer (Tuxedo Junction) and band leader.
